Summer Interns Employed at Two Newpark Laboratories

Newpark Drilling Fluids is committed to the future and bringing young, talented students into the workplace is essential for our continual growth. During the summer of 2006, Newpark has employed four students as interns working in either the Houston, Texas lab or the lab in Spanish Lake, Louisiana. The following brief biographies illustrate their lab activities and goals for the future:

Nathan Tarver, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Chemistry Program: My future plans include possibly staying with Newpark or going to graduate school. I like the Spanish Lake lab because it keeps me busy and being around people I enjoy working with. The variety of testing is actually my favorite part. My favorite hobby is bowling

David Verret, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Geology Program: My future plans will include either working with volcanic research facilities or staying in the oilfield here in the gulf. Working in the lab gives me excellent experience toward my future field and gives me a chance to get hands-on experience with off-shore equipment. My hobbies include, shredding on the guitar, camping, kayaking, fishing, and most of all traveling.
